Ok, so this place is outstanding and the work they do is literally life changing. Kate, the director and Jeremy, my case worker have both gone above and beyond, making sure I and my kitten Max are going to be OK during this cold snap. Going so far as to get me some kitten food too. Without going into details, they have made sure I have gotten everything I need and even helped me with my mail and a phone. I cannot give them and the United Way enough Stars. 10 out of 5 Stars. If you need help, this is the place to go and they even feed hot meals 5 days a week between 10:30 and Noon. Thanks to all who Volunteer out there and again a HUGE THANK YOU to Kate & Jeremy!
What’s going on everyone? And don’t worry I’m just getting started about this so stay tuned🤣 This place is good to come get food if u need some but working and getting food are 2 different things. If want to want to work here make sure it’s not in the food service or think twice cus working in there alot of Indians not enough Chiefs. Juan the driver thinks he runs it all try’s to lay rules down and on the 2nd hand you have ms . Enyah Thompkins or how ever u spell it idx Gives Juan the right to do anything or or saying anything and it’s always his way or the highway. And to top it off when u talk to Enyah and make sure u have someone next to or record cus u can even ask the volunteers how she talks . A lot of them quit cus of her.
That’s all for the day ✌️
Community Cooperative is simply amazing. They not only have a community cafe for those that want a hot meal but they also run the Meals on Wheels program, provide lunches for schools that serve disadvantaged children and they also provide social services for those in the community. They team up with numerous organizations so if any type of assistance is needed, from signing up for government resources to seeking help for substance abuse, Community Cooperative is like a beacon of hope. In my time volunteering here, I have seen the staff and volunteers work so hard to serve their community-they are a driving force to CC’s mission and they do it all with so much heart!
Helped me eat when I was going through cancer treatments and didn't know how to apply for EBT. Very kind and compassionate.
Excellent place I picked up a couple of bags of groceries and some frozen meat,
But before I did that I went in the kitchen and ate a hot meal that I haven't had and a few months, I would like to go everyday that I could but having dispensed for gas I can't afford it, but I know my health would improve if I could just eat a hot meal two or three times a week would help, but this is one of the finest and cleanest soup kitchen in all of Lee county I believe
Shout out to the whole ccmi team. Incredible staff, Stellar leadership, community informed and professional w a dash of all the right characters with altruistic heart driven motive. If you are listening and need a little love....go get it.
I volunteered as a server for the soup kitchen at Community Cooperative. If you're interested in a volunteer opportunity, this would be a great place to get involved. Our group prepped food to serve those in need. Additionally, we helped the kitchen staff prepare food for Meals on Wheels and for lunches going to disadvantaged schools. Everything we made and gave away was extremely fresh and tasty! In addition to serving the hot food, the kitchen staff gave away milk, bread, and pastries from Publix. The picture shows all of the bread made available to those in need.
These people in there are full of love and they love people they love us out here you know and then they give us extra food and stuff like that that's loving people
My husband, Thomas Rosa & myself, cannot express our thanks, gratitude & appreciate for an organization like this one. They opened their hearts to us when we had a little “Hiccup “ in our lives. We have received prayers & blessings from this organization. Plus it is Christian Base!
